13 September 2026, 18.00 hrs. At Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, Mr. Narong Thepsena, Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, assigned Mr. Phusit Noi Sopakul, Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, to preside over the opening ceremony of the "Ubon Ratchathani Community Sports and Creative Economy Fair" and presented prizes to the winning team. The event was attended by Mrs. Sawakitt Thanyawadi, MP, Ubon Ratchathani Province District 4, Sheriff Warin Chamrab, Head of Government Department, Athletes and local people.
The event took place from 12-13 September 2026 at Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The objective is to promote sports as a mechanism to foster youth and public participation, open a space to demonstrate talent and develop sports skills, and link sports activities with tourism promotion, economy, and community capacity presentation in Ubon Ratchathani Province.
The event is in line with the policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and the 7th National Sports Development Plan that aims to promote sports tourism, develop the sports industry and use sports activities as an economic value-added mechanism along with the distribution of income and prosperity to the region, as well as enhance the foundational economy and the quality of life of the people, as well as create opportunities for athletes to develop their potential and grow into national and international competitions.
For sports activities, there are two generations of 7-person football competitions: youth up to the age of 16 and the general public, and two generations of youth volleyball competitions: youth boys and young girls up to the age of 18, to provide opportunities for young people and the public to demonstrate their abilities, develop sports skills and experience, as well as to strengthen friendship, harmony and sportsmanship.
Ubon Ratchathani Province aims to use sports activities as part of creating opportunities for youth and the public to participate in creative activities along with promoting tourism and the community economy in order to create added value for the area, distribute income to the community, and support sustainable development of the province.
