Thansum District submitted a large ancient type of Lent tree to participate in the Ubon Ratchathani Province Candle Festival for the year 2026 by presenting the story of the Buddha descending from the heaven of Daodung. After ascending to remember the Lent and show the Buddha's favorite mother and remember Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother through the broadcasting of the royal work on the preservation of Thai art and culture, especially Khon, which has been supporting all along.
The candlestick procession is also linked to the account in Nemiraj Chadhaka, which reflects the principles of merit, sin, and the consequences of karma through the image of a visit to hell, a landscape that reminds the people to be steadfast in doing good and abstaining from evil.
