March 21, 2026 at 9:00 am Ubon Ratchathani Province organized an activity “Enhance the health of monks to be leaders in the movement of the world city of Kammat” with Khru Koson Vihad Khun Chao Abbot Wat Klang as the chairman of the monk department and Acting Sub-Lieutenant Korngat Prasertwong, Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province presiding over the opening ceremony. 

Professor Dr. Chadhong Jutaket, Vice President for Research and Innovation, along with Faculty of Nursing, Ubon Ratchathani University, delivered the monk health promotion handbook to the network partners at Wat Klang, Nai Mueang Sub-district, Mueang Ubon Ratchathani District, Ubon Ratchathani Province.

The event was organized under the project “Ubon Ratchathani, City of Dharma, World Meditation City” in cooperation with Ubon Ratchathani University, the Provincial Cultural Office of Ubon Ratchathani Municipality, and public health networks, including local clergy. This operation focuses on keeping the monks physically and mentally healthy and ready to serve as a center for the hearts of the people and a spiritual leader in community development.which will be an important force in driving Ubon Ratchathani province to become a city of righteousness and a world-class city of Kammadhan.

The event was attended by more than 180 monks, health volunteers, medical personnel, and citizens. The event was interesting, including a preliminary medical examination by the Provincial Health Office, and mental health care services through “Companion Car By Prasri”From Phra Si Maha Pho Hospital, lectures on“ Practicing Health Care in the Way of Monks ”, workshops on 4 learning bases: Physical Health in the Way of Dharma, Nutrition, Mental Health, and the Use of Health Communication Technology. There will also be an exhibition on health promotion for monks to build knowledge, understanding and extension towards building a broader health society. 

This activity reflects Ubon Ratchathani's commitment to elevate the role of monks to be more than a center of faith, but also a “transformative leader” that helps drive Thai society towards a sustainable balance of body, mind, and wisdom.
