October 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Songsarn X Railway Station, Warin Chamrab Branch, Warin Chamrab District, Ubon Ratchathani Province Mr. Jirachai Kraikangwa, Mayor of Warin Chamrap, presided over the opening ceremony. “Warin Railway Museum”A new cultural learning center that reflects the history, transportation, and prosperity of Old Town Warinchamrab. The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chutinan Prasitphuripreecha, President of Ubon Ratchathani University, along with the management, faculty, researchers, government agencies, private enterprises, and local partners to congratulate.
This museum is part of the project “Revive, revive, revive, revive the city of Warin: Learning Ecosystem Design of Old Town Warin Chamrab with Soft Power and Cultural Capital ”, supported by the Area Development Management and Management Unit (BoD) under the direction of Ubon Ratchathani University, aims to develop Warin Chamrab District into a“ Learning City ”driven by the power of soft power and local cultural capital.
Located on the second floor of Songsarn X Railway Station, the Warin Railway Museum aims to be a center for learning about the history of the construction of the Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani Railway, as well as an unprecedented display of old photographs and stories of Warin Chamrab district, so it is not only a cultural learning ground if it is also a new destination for visitors who want to experience the profound charm of Warin.
In addition, the establishment of the museum is part of efforts to “revive” Old Town Warin by providing a space for young people and younger generations to learn, be proud of, and further their hometown's cultural values through creative activities and the participation of all sectors in the community.
The “messenger shop” building that houses the museum is considered an old building with the history and historical value of Warin Chamrab. Converting this area into a museum is like “reawakening” the old building, truly reflecting the spirit of the “Revive the Life of Warin” project.
