July 10, 2025 at 8:09 AM At the ceremonial dance area in front of Sri Ubon Rattanaram Temple, Amphoe Mueang, Ubon Ratchathani Province, the grand opening ceremony of the 2025 Candle Parade in Ubon Ratchathani Province was held for the 124th year, with tens of thousands of Thai and foreign tourists attending the event.

The opening ceremony was honored by Major Adisak Noisuwan, Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Province, Mr. Kan Kalptinan, President of Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Administrative Organization, Ms. Pitthaya Chaiyawong, Mayor of Ubon Ratchathani City, along with Kru Thien of Ubon Ratchathani Province, as the official opening symbol.

Inside the event, there was a magnificent release of the candle tree procession, starting from the royal lent candle procession and the royal rain cloth, followed by various types of candle tree processions, including carved type, printed type, and antique candle type. In total, 45 candles were divided into 3 sizes: large, medium, and small. Each candle tree procession that moves through the ceremonial dance is beautifully decorated with performances from more than 35 processions, astonishing the tourists watching on both sides of the major streets of Ubon Ratchathani.

This year is a special time because the province has set a continuous event for 2 days and 2 nights to allow tourists to experience the beauty of the candle procession up close. For those who missed the parade, they can also see the candle trees up close in front of the main shrine.

There are also many tourism promotion activities such as the candle tree light show during the night of July 10-11, 2025, the OTOP shop, the folk culture show, the VIJIT Gastronolight @ Ubon Ratchathani Srisilpa, which is a fusion of the "Must See" and "Must Taste" concepts from the "5 Must Do in Thailand" campaign, conveying the concept of "Fine, Light, Faith, Tham Rung Ruang" through light, color and contemporary design at various Ubon Ratchathani landmarks in 11 spots.

Candle Festival in Ubon Ratchathani This year is not only a continuation and preservation of valuable cultural heritage, but also a stimulation of the economy to promote tourism in Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is estimated that there will be more than 1 billion baht in the area.
